Directions to Dunlop Auditorium, University of Pennsylvania

Dunlop Auditorium is located in Stemmler Hall on the Southern end of the UPenn campus, just behind the UPenn Hospital. Stemmler Hall is on 36th and Hamilton Walk, one block South of Spruce Street on Hamilton Walk. Below are walking directions to Stemmler Hall from 34th and Spruce. If you live outside of Philadelphia, there are directions to 34th and Spruce via public transportation or driving.

If you are driving, these directions will take you to the corner of 34th and Spruce Streets. From here you will have to find parking and then follow the walking directions to Stemmler Hall from 34th and Spruce. Metered parking is free after 8pm and can be found all around the area. Since UPenn undergraduates will be out of session on the 24th, there should be nearby spots available on Spruce Street, 34th Street, or Walnut Street between 34th and 38th.


From 34TH AND SPRUCE in Philadelphia:

Walk up Spruce Street until you get to your first stop light at 36th and Spruce (36th is a walkway here). Turn left at the stop light onto 36th street, follow until you reach a T and turn left onto Hamilton Walk. Stemmler Hall is the building on your right as you pass under an overhead walkway and just before you reach a big pink pyramid.


PUBLIC TRANSIT:

To get into Philadelphia from the Main Line suburbs west of the city, take the Septa R5 line into 30th Street Station. From the Norristown or Manayunk area, take the Septa R6 line into 30th Street Station. Exit the train station onto 30th and Market and take the Market/Frankford Blue Line (going West towards 69th street) to 34th street. Walk down 34th street from Market to Spruce. Follow the directions at the top of the page from 34th and Spruce.


From the Pennsylvania Turnpike and points WEST of Philadelphia

Exit the Pennsylvania Turnpike at Exit 24 (Valley Forge) then merge onto I-76 East (Philadelphia). Stay to the right and continue on 76 East at the 76/676 split. You will exit from the left-hand lane at Exit #346a South Street (old Exit 40). At the top of the ramp make a right onto South Street (toward the University of PA sign). Follow South Street to the 4th traffic light (34th Street), at which point it turns into Spruce Street. Find parking in the area and follow the directions at the top of the page from 34th and Spruce.


From points NORTH of Philadelphia:

I-95 South to 676/30 West to I-76 East (towards the airport). You will exit from the left-hand lane at Exit #346a South Street (old Exit 40). At the top of the ramp make a right onto South Street (toward the University of PA sign). Follow South Street to the 4th traffic light (34th Street), at which point it turns into Spruce Street. Find parking in the area and follow the directions at the top of the page from 34th and Spruce.

PA Turnpike to North/Northeast Extension to I-476 S to I-76 East. Follow directions above.

OR

US-1 South (Roosevelt Blvd) to I-76 East (Central Philadelphia). Follow directions above.


From points SOUTH of Philadelphia

Follow I-95 North past Philadelphia International Airport towards downtown. Then merge from the left-hand lanes onto Exit #22 I-676 (Vine Street Expressway, Central Philadelphia, Independence Hall) Take I-676 cross-town and then merge from the right-hand lanes onto I-76 East (Int'l Airport, Schuylkill Expressway). You will exit from the left-hand lane at Exit #346a South Street (old Exit 40). At the top of the ramp make a right onto South Street (toward the University of PA sign). Follow South Street to the 4th traffic light (34th Street), at which point it turns into Spruce Street. Find parking in the area and follow the directions at the top of the page from 34th and Spruce.


From SOUTH JERSEY:

Ben Franklin Bridge to 676/30 West to 76 East (towards the airport). You will exit from the left-hand lane at Exit #346a South Street (old Exit 40). At the top of the ramp make a right onto South Street (toward the University of PA sign). Follow South Street to the 4th traffic light (34th Street), at which point it turns into Spruce Street. Find parking in the area and follow the directions above from 34th and Spruce.
